I’m On Probation

…with my roommate!  I just moved in here on the 19th, and yesterday, she tells me “I don’t think it’s gonna work out.”  Sadly, that wasn’t the first time I’d heard that one, but NEVER from a roommate!  She says this because of different schedules and she says she didn’t get but two nights of good sleep all week, and that she could hear when I came in at night (she needs decent earplugs, I am not loud coming in)

  1. Sunday night (first weeknight since I moved in):  I was on the phone with someone and she did have to come in twice saying she could hear everything through her earplugs.  The second time, I really thought I was quiet enough. She was back in bed by 11:30pm, I didn’t see it as that big of a deal, but would be more aware the next time
  2. Tuesday night: I came home late (around 2am) and she locked the top lock on the door, and I couldn’t get in the door.  I fooled with this lock for 20 minutes, waking her up was my LAST resort.  I tried to get in through the patio door…NOTHING worked.  I knocked the first time, and no response, the 2nd time, she came and got the door, and said you just have to fool with it.  The next day, she came home and said she tried to get it to work with my key, and it didn’t.  I also apologized for having to wake her up.  Not my fault, except I guess I could’ve been home earlier.
  3. Thursday night: I did get home late, was hanging out with The Mix for game night, and then went to Waffle house afterwards, and got into reading my book, THE SHACK, which I’m really liking.  I did turn on the radio, HOWEVER, it wasn’t loud (really, it wasn’t) and it took her a good half an hour to come in, of which, she just opened the door, and I wasn’t dressed (not cool!), but I’ll forgive that, she was probably blind without her contacts or glasses anyway.

I then went and talked to my mom and she told me to see about negotiating with her.  I thought about it and figured it was certainly worth a try, I can’t afford to move again, nor do I want to have to stress about finding a decent place to live again.  I then went in and asked her if I could stay if I came in by a certain time, and turned off all noise, if that would be an option.  She said she would think about it.  Today, she said we’ll do a trial run, until the middle of October, and see how it works out.  I agreed, and told her I appreciated a 2nd chance.  I also explained to her that, until I start working again, my schedule is off, but I’d be willing to go by her’s, and turn off all noise (which reminds me, I need to look for some cordless headphones, if there is such a thing).  The rent is so cheap, I’ll almost walk her dog just to stay (ALMOST, let’s not get crazy now!).  So, I have a curfew now, let’s hope she doesn’t find another reason to give me the boot!  My friend, Victor, said I shouldn’t have to negotiate, because I do pay, but it IS her condo, and I didn’t sign a lease.

On another note, do you think I have too many roommate issues, that I have a WHOLE category assigned to roommates?

The other day, I was hanging out at Waffle House, and I watched as some kid had an order of plain hashbrowns, and put mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup and hot sauce on them!  I had never seen such a combination!!!  Depending on the day, I like my hashbrowns scattered all the way, hold the peppers (don’t like hot), topped with chili and add ranch dressing.  A friend got me hooked on it.

Now, when I was in college, friends would dip their french fries in a mixture of ketchup and mayo, which seemed gross, so I never tried it, but I guess it’s kind of popular.  I like ketchup, and I like mayo…just not together!  Someone said they liked peanut butter and mayo on bread, and that grossed me out!  How is mayo so versatile?????

Do you like any food compinations that others may deem strange?????

And So The Search Continues…

We are now 5 months into the job search, and I’ve been in panic mode for the last 3 of them!  Now, I’m in the freak out stage, where my dad is telling me he can’t keep supporting me, and I still haven’t had any nibbles!  My bank account overdrew, he was supposed to put money in, yet it never made its way in.  Last week, I was dealing with the whole moving fiasco, and as soon as I was back online, I must have sent out 20 resumes and cover letters, and not one phone call!  I’m just so irritated and ready to throw in the towel, with nowhere to turn.  The ony thing is I don’t have anywhere to go.  Michigan isn’t an option, they’ve got higher unemployment rates than Tennesee, and as for living with my mother, NO THANKS!  With the whole country having issues, I feel stuck.  And what kills me is my little brother, 20, who is going to school and working full time, is making more money than I’ve ever made!  He had to drop out of college because of his “depression” and has screwed up way more than me, yet things are going well for him!  I just don’t get it, why am I still going around this mountain??????  I haven’t had an interview in over a week, and I’m assumming I didn’t get that one since I never heard back.  The one the week before that, they said they’d certainly let me know EITHER WAY, and NOTHING!!!!!!  If anyone hears of anybody hiring, where it wouldn’t require me to be on my feet all day, let me know, I have a Bachelor’s Degree and can do anything administrative, and have fantastic customer service skills!

TV Themes

I thought this was really cool, and Josh Groban did an AWESOME job!!!

Dancing Dweebs

Would you rather do the “Carlton” or the “Urkel”????

OR

Ghosts?

I was perusing cosmo mag online, which is really like my 2nd bible, and it said that One-third of Americans believe in ghosts, and nearly one in four believe they’ve actually seen one or felt its presence.

I’ve never been one to believe in the paranormal, so I’m just a tad skeptical, but i’m curious, have you witnessed any ghost related instances???

Human Tootsie Pop

I want to take a moment and brag a little…about my father!  See, if you ever met my dad, unless you came to know him REALLY well, you would think he’s a hard ass, for lack of a better term, but I think he resembles a tootsie pop.  The reason he had such a hard exterior is because he’s full of such sweet goodness in the center!  I bring this up because I was curious to see if he was ever in the media over in the UK, which is where he lives and works.  He is a plant manager for Vauxhall (GM), and from what he tells me on the phone, he rubs elbows with some of the big names in his neck of the woods.  There wasn’t much on him, but I did find an article that melted my heart, and thought it was worth sharing.  He’s not one to brag, so I’ll do it for him, and like I’ve said before, I couldn’t be prouder of him!  I am one of the luckiest girls on the planet to have such a wonderful father!  If not for him, I’d be homeless, so he really is my biggest hero.  No matter how much I’ve disappointed him, and there have been many times, he’s ALWAYS there for me!

The Power Of Diamonds

Who would’ve thought Diamonds could be so powerful???  The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Who Would WANT to Get Married Nowadays???

Oprah had a show, today, about men cheating, which was enlightening, yet, somewhat sad.  They had several couples who were surprisingly open about the affairs they had and why.

  • They said they felt underappreciated with the lack of affection and attention.
  • VERY rarely was it that a man would cheat with someone better looking than their spouse, but they gave them the attention and made them feel appreciated.
  • Men are emotional beings, despite what many women think, it’s just they are not as expressive as women.
  • The startling statistic is 1 in 3 men cheat in their marriage!
  • VERY few ever admit to the cheating, MOST women will NEVER know!
That was just a little of what was said, M. Gary Neuman, who was on the show, wrote a book called Truth About Cheating.  You can go to Oprah’s website and download the book for free for a limited time, I did.  It just makes me wonder if I want to get married.  That’s a LOT to deal with, can men really be trusted??  I know I shouldn’t base my life on statistics, but between these statistics and the divorce rates, I’m really rethinking whether I EVER want to get married down the road.  I’ve met some men that you would NEVER have thought they could do anything wrong, upstanding citizens, leaders in their church and community, and it’s just very shocking to find out they aren’t the most faithful.
I did do some research, and looked up about women cheating, and it appears 1 in 5 have had a fling during their marriage, so that’s not that good either, but, in my opinion, in general, women have more self control, but if they do cheat, it’s for the same reasons.
Do these statistics shock you???  What do you think???
