I’ve Never Wanted To Be A Homewrecker…

But, how can you not want to steal Keith Urban away from Nicole?!?!?!?!?!

Since my junior year in college, I have had an obsession with Keith Urban, I was even a member of Monkeyville (his fanclub), and traveled up to 7 hours JUST to see him in concert!  Since he married Nicole, and had a kid, I kind of fell out of love with him, but I just saw a video of him in concert on CMT, singing “You Look Good In My Shirt”, the school-girl crush is back!!!  He is looking FOIIIIIIIIIIIIINE with his hair shorter, and more natural looking (he had some bad hilight and lowlight jobs before), and you can tell he’s been workin’ out!!!!   I can’t tell you what a PHENOMENAL performer he is, check him out for yourself!  He even gave a girl his guitar!!!!

I never had the chance to meet him, but my friend, Becky (whom I never would’ve met, if not for KU), and I had the opportunity to meet all of his band members minus one, in Detroit, back in 2005.  We were such diehards, we went to BOTH of his shows, and we sat in the 14th row, the only thing that would’ve made us happier was if we were in first row, able to look him in those dreamy blue eyes!!  Becky, from then on, was my concert buddy!  We went to a show he did in East Lansing three months later, and even went to go see Little Big Town, of which we actually met at one of KU’s Detroit shows.

I have seen him perform in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Twin Lakes, Wisconsin at Country Thunder (which was WAY cool, you get to see a bunch of concerts for the price of three), two shows in Detroit, all in 2005.  In 2006, I was only able to see him twice, one of which was JUST for the fanclub, and that was cool to see him sing songs no one had heard yet, on his Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing album, in Atlanta.  I took my friend, Betsy, and she wasn’t the BIGGEST fan, but she was highly impressed with his performance!  If you ever have the chance, go and see him perform, even if you aren’t familiar with his music, you would LOVE one of his shows!!!!

I know he’ll never show up at my door, but IF he did, I wouldn’t turn him away, married or not!  The ONE time I wouldn’t care if I was called a homewrecker 😉

Sex Fruit, 4real??

I was watching Regis and Kelly this morning, and they said there are names that are illegal in New Zealand to name your child. If you remember my post about Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s choice of baby names, I’m a fairly traditional girl, and think there’s a big difference between unique and strange!! A couple, in New Zealand, had tried to name their child “4real”, because when they saw the ultrasound, they realized it was “for real”, and now a judge has deemed it illegal because no names are allowed to start with a number, and because they ban any names that may be offensive, in order to “prevent too much imagination”!!! Other names in New Zealand that are illegal:

  • Fish and Chips
  • Yeah Detroit (Now the Michigander side of me would not be opposed to this one, but maybe lose the Yeah)
  • Keenan Got Lucy
  • Sex Fruit

I did some looking around, and you’d be surprised to know that the Germans regulate what you can name your child, saying it must be reflective of the gender of the child and not endanger the well being of the child (if they only regulated ALL celebrities, you know their children will be ridiculed, and probably scarred from it). All of the baby names must be approved by the German Office of Vital Statistics, and they rely on an international manual of first names, and if they still can’t decide, they may call on a foreign embassy for assistance. There apparently is a fee for registering a name, and should your name be rejected, you could appeal it, but if you lose that, you would be spending more to resubmit a name. They did reject the name “Huckleberry” because in Mark Twain’s novel, Huck was considered an outsider, but “Nemo” is supposedly an acceptable name! In Mexico, the government has tried regulating names, Lluvia (rain) and Azul (blue) have been deemed “improper” and they will only allow “common spellings” of names.

Here is a list of the 20 strangest celebrity baby names, they’re WAAAAY out there!

I’m all for unique baby names, HOWEVER, Sunday is not what you name your child!!!! Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban had a baby girl, and decided to name her after a day of the week!!!! The only other child named after a weekday was from the Adams Family!!!!! And when she gets older, she’s going to be asked if she was born on a Sunday, and she’ll have to say nope, on a Monday!!! People are going to look at her like she’s silly, she’ll be Sunday Urban when she shortens it…just sounds silly!!!! Now, I used to have a one way love affair with Keith, but when he married her, he changed, and I lost interest, but I thought he at least had the common sense to name his child a “normal” name! Even the people on the news said it’s a pretty name, but do they say Sunday is a pretty name for a day of the week….noooooo!!!!! Just a dumb name for a child!!!! And then later on, she’ll think she’s being cheeky, and change it to Sundae LOL, something a stripper would name themselves!!!! Why can’t celebrities name their children things other than Audio Science and Apple?? There’s a difference between unique and sticking out like a sour thumb!!!!!

This is Dr. Sheila…

We were suite-mates (we shared a bathroom between rooms in the dorms) in college, for 2 years, both had our issues with roommates, and made each other laugh, even when we were afraid we were going to fail a class, or were uncertain about how our decisions would pan out post college, and ended up BFF’s in the process!! She’s now in Chicago, a pharmacist, and I’m trying to get her to move to Nashville, she did like it here, and she’s sick of paying $1300 for rent (can’t say that I blame her)!! I hadn’t seen her since we graduated May of 2006, so it was exciting to meet up!!!!

On Thursday, we went to see this girl perform, and she was amazing, as always! Katie tagged along too, and she’s always an added bonus! Friday, we had a mini barbecue here in the 865 Bellevue complex, and Katie and Sarah joined us, and had a grand ol’ time! We then made an attempt at a dessert…

I was watching the Food Network one day, and they had a company who made chocolate covered frozen bananas, so why couldn’t we???? Well, probably because we don’t have the equipment, but we tried!!!!! They weren’t all that bad, and Sheila loved the sprinkle addition!!!! Next time, we think we’ll fondue it! The next day, we cooked, we made fried eggplant (a personal favorite), marinated chicken (you don’t know what your missing until you’ve had this chicken, promise!), and broccoli…and it was nothing less than fantastic, in my book, and Sheila loved it. She said she didn’t expect to learn to cook, and she said it was so easy. I told her it’s Chef Schmidt style, and I only do easy ha ha!!! I even sent a picture of the food to my mother as proof I do cook, she called laughing!!!!

That day, we went wandering around downtown, I pointed out where Nicole and Keith Urban have a condo, and told her she needs to move there, and I’ll move in with her…she did like the downtown, but she said it’d be at least a year until she changes jobs. I got my fingers crossed!!!! Sunday, she went to church with me, she said she’s not a singer, so she didn’t sing, but she said she enjoyed it, so that was cool!!! We then had our little luncheon afterwards, which Emily and Jason did a fantastic job cooking!!!! Sheila decided to stick around until Monday, which was great! We went to have Chinese over at China Spring, which was pretty good, and went to TCBY, and James, a friend of mine, joined us!!!! We woke up today, she said she wanted some grits, we went to waffle house Friday, and she had loved them then, she offered to pay, so how could I refuse that??  Yes, I can be bought, and it usually doesn’t take much!!!!!  She left earlier today, and it was just a good time for her to come, I’ve just been in a rut, with no job, and what not, and she needed a change of scenery, so it was a great visit!!!!  Thanks Sheila for coming ALL the way from Chicago to visit little ol’ me!!!!
